Since our online yoga classes for the CF community started in January, over 500 households have signed up for our program. People are consistently telling us that they LOVE our classes, and want to do more!

We are thrilled to announce that the Boomer Esiason Foundation has generously funded additional weekly classes in our virtual yoga studio for an ENTIRE YEAR! Their sponsorship allows us to DOUBLE our class offerings, with classes starting TWICE PER WEEK starting in June!

Who is the Boomer Esiason Foundation?

The Boomer Esiason Foundation was created by former NFL quarterback Boomer Esiason, after his son Gunnar Esiason was diagnosed with CF in the early 1990s. Per the foundation’s mission statement, “The Boomer Esiason Foundation is a dynamic partnership of leaders in the medical and business communities joining with a committed core of volunteers to heighten awareness, education and quality of life for those affected by cystic fibrosis, while providing financial support to research aimed at finding a cure.”

Today, Gunnar Esiason is living a full and active life (he is an avid hockey player), while serving as CF Advocate and Program Director for the Boomer Esiason Foundation. Like us here at CF Yogi, Gunnar believes that exercise improves outcomes and quality of life for people with CF. Gunnar says,

“Part of our Credo at the Boomer Esiason Foundation states, ‘Our ultimate goal is to free the world of CF; while we wait, we will improve the lives of those who live with the disease,’ and we think CF Yogi is doing wonderful work within our patient population to enrich the lives of their clients through a virtual community and exercise platform. We believe as an organization that can have a better impact on people living with cystic fibrosis through a powerful partnership!”

We completely agree, and could not be more excited to partner together in reaching out to the CF community, and inviting them to exercise with us in our virtual yoga studio, twice every week!

Our TWICE PER WEEK schedule kicks off in June!

Just like our current weekly classes, the second weekly class will rotate instructors and topics from month to month. Classes will be recorded so that you can practice afterward on your own schedule if you can’t join us in real time. Join us in June on:

  • MONDAY MORNINGS: Gentle Kripalu Vinyasa with Heather Brown
  • TUESDAY EVENINGS: Flow & Let Go with Chelsea Spruance

Thanks to the Boomer Esiason Foundation’s year-long commitment to our program, in future months we will be able to bring you Kids Yoga more often, and always offer adult-oriented classes alongside Kids Yoga so the grown-ups don’t have to go a month without a live class! Later in the year, we also hope to rotate in some more niche classes for specific needs, like Chair Yoga / Yoga for PICC lines, and Yoga for Caregivers.
