We are thrilled to announce that thanks to the support of the Boomer Esiason Foundation, a new instructor will be joining us in August . . . Colleen Lewis will be joining us as our first CF Yogi Teacher-in-Training!

Those of you who follow Colleen on Instagram already know her as a compassionate leader in the CF community, advocating for inclusive and positive voices in the lives of people with Cystic Fibrosis. For many years Colleen has used yoga to proactively care for herself and has independently studied the physical and philosophical aspects of yoga. She is now taking the next big step of teaching yoga to others, and is in the process of completing a 200-hour yoga teacher training with Yoga Medicine.

Part of our mission here at CF Yogi is to support the livelihood of people with CF who have unique knowledge of yoga for CF that is valuable to others in our community. By bringing on new teachers-in-training, we give them a chance to build real-world teaching experience alongside mentorship from our experienced RYT200 instructors in tailoring yoga classes to the needs of people with CF. And we all get to experience their yoga traditions and learn from them about what helpful in a yoga practice, too.

So of course, we are beyond excited to see this idea become reality! Colleen’s experience practicing in different settings has sparked a passion for creating trauma-sensitive, inclusive, accessible spaces. We are delighted that she believes CF Yogi is one of those spaces, and has decided to join us. <3

You’re welcome to join Colleen for Gentle Yoga on Wednesday evenings from August 7 – 28th. Watch your email inbox for full details and class invitations!

P.S. Stay tuned for more about Colleen and our August classes in coming weeks… we have some fun events planned that you will NOT want to miss!
